Make O-Rings with O-Ring Cord

It is of course possible that the correct o-ring size is not available. You can easily and quickly make an o-ring yourself from round cord. All you have to do is cut the round cord to the right length and glue the ends together with instant glue. The Loctite 406 is a suitable adhesive for this.

X-Profile

What is X-Profile?  

X-Profile gets its name from its shape. Thanks to the X-shape, the cord does not twist in a groove and is ideal for dynamic applications. The X-ring therefore has an advantage over the O-ring when the surface is dynamic. When working with lubricant, it accumulates between the sealing lips.

Advantages of X-Rings – Quad-Rings

If a part sealed with an O-ring makes a sliding movement, the O-ring can also move in the groove. This may cause the O-ring to twist. When an O-ring twists, damage to the surface of the O-ring can occur and leakage may occur. To prevent this, an X-ring is used in such cases. An X-ring has four sealing lips and therefore resembles an X, which is why the name X-ring or quad ring has arisen.
