Camlock coupling

If you are looking for a Camlock coupling to connect transport hoses, drag hoses or, for example, water hoses. Then is Techniparts the right place for you!

What is a Camlock coupling?

Camlocks are one of the most popular flexible coupling in the industry to quickly couple and uncouple hose connections. The Camlok system consists of an mother part “coupler” and an father part “adaptor”. When both parts pushed together and the levers of the motherpart are closed, arises a leak-proof connection. This unique fast closing mechanism is resistant to vibrations, pulsating pressing and dragging motions.

What is a Camlock coupling for?

For pairing of the transport hoses and water hoses the Camlock coupling can be used for this. Camlock couplings are commonly available in a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and plastic (polypropylene). Because they cannot become contaminated, the Camlock couplings are popular in moderately dirty environments, such as septic tank pump trucks and chemical or tank trucks. The system is particularly suitable for a situation where frequent hose changes are required, such as for petroleum trucks, etc. As examples of industrial application, Camlock couplings can be used in a system where rapid filling of chemical drums takes place, or by factories that have needs to dye, paint and ink material transfers.

How does a Camlock coupling work?

The Camlock system consists of a father part and a mother part. Both parts can be fastened together with a lever set in the mother part. When both parts are pushed together and the handles of the main part are closed, a leak-free connection is created.

Pressure coupling

A pressure coupling is used for hoses that are under pressure. This type of coupling is rotated 130° when connected and is fitted with a pressure-resistant rubber ring. Usually this type is (very) difficult to disconnect under pressure, which increases safety. There are several standardized types:

Suction coupling

A suction hose coupling is used for suction hoses. This type of coupling is rotated 90° when connected and is fitted with a pressure-resistant rubber ring. The couplings are often equipped with folding handles to make it easier to connect the often stiff hoses.
